Sig 556 Russian Available!
Sig Sauer has started shipping the new SIG556R (Russian) chambered in 7.62×39. The 556 Russian was announced last fall as one of Sig Sauer’s newest caliber rifles. It is a Swiss style 550/551 rifle with black furniture and a Sig mini red dot sight mounted on top.
The SIG556R is designed to use regular AK-47 magazines. I have not yet heard compatibility with drums.

Update: I just checked compatibility with the AK-47 drum (had one on hand) and it does not work with the SIG556R because of the height of the front of the lower receiver. Perhaps other drums will work but they would need a taller collar around the drum to lock in place.
