Sig P226 SSS

We’ve got another non-cataloged Sig Sauer pistol in stock. The pistol is a Sig P226 9mm with a stainless steel frame and silde. The part number is 226-9-SSS. Even though the part number does not have a R, this model does have a rail.

This model is rather difficult to acquire because the frame is made in Germany. There is a pretty significant shortage of stainless frames (I believe all Sig’s stainless steel frames are made in Germany still). Sig Sauer still imports this model because it is legal to own in California. Because it isn’t cataloged and has a stainless frame, it is pretty widely demanded.

See photos below and we have this model in our store available for order. Note that this model does have 10rd magazines. If you’d like to purchase one with 15rd magazines, feel free to call or email us.

I was under the impression that German made frames either steel or aluminum are quite common, in fact I’d go so far as to say most Sig classic P series guns that I see in gun stores have German made frames rather than US frames. I think US Sig manufacturing prefers to buy German frames rather than make their own therefore German frames to me are not at all unique. The stainless steel frame std design P226 is not at all rare either, they have been making them in natural stainless right along with the elites FOREVER! Look at the serial ranges, from 6xx,xxx thru 9xx,xxx or so now, However the non-elite natural stainless frame P226 is THE MOST sought after P226 and possibly the most highly sought Sig in the history of the company so the demand is high, get’em folks while you can! I think the most rare stainless frame P226s right now are the black stainless. If however they ramp up production of the black stainless they will no longer be rare. Rumor has it they want to ad 40 to the black stainless as well. A lot of folks prefer nitron sigs to natural stainless sigs so popularity of that model will grow!
