Green is in! Sig Sauer is now offering most of their lasers and light/laser combos with a green laser. The CPL-RM (Compact Pistol Laser – Rail Mount) is the first one we will have seen with the green laser but I’m told that the STL900-WLL (aks STL-900L) and STL-300 will have green laser options as well.
Below is the green CPL-RM shown in Sig’s 2011 catalog:
Out of all the newest pistols coming out in 2011, Sig Sauer’s 1911-22 chambered in .22LR may be one of the most overlooked models. Sig’s 1911-22 .22LR is a full size 1911 at a very reasonable price. MSRP is only $399!
This model has rosewood grips, contrast sights, a black finish, and a SAO trigger.
I had the opportunity to handle the .22LR 1911 at SHOT on Tuesday and it feels absolutely outstanding in your hand. The weight is great and the trigger is really crisp – better than you’d expect. All that Sig needs now is a threaded barrel for this beauty so I can throw my AAC Prodigy on it!
Sig is showing off two versions of the P210 Legend at SHOT Show this year. The main version is the standard model that is back in production for 2011.
The P210 Legend is known as one of Sig Sauer’s most accurate 9mm pistols and many people say it is the most accurate 9mm they have ever seen or fired.
The fancier limited edition P210 Legend is also new for 2011 and there will be a total of 210 produced. They have a unique serial number and number 210 is being raffled at SHOT Show this year. Number one is on auction and at the open of the show on Monday morning, it was up over $5,000.
See the P210 Legend below. Specs are shown in one of the photos (scanned from the 2011 catalog).
We snapped some photos of Sig Sauer’s new 50 BMG. This is definitely a niche market for Sig but there are quite a few .50 BMG enthusiasts out there. I had the opportunity to chat with one of the guys that helped design / build the SIG50 and he told an interesting story…
When designing the grip on the SIG50, he wasn’t happy with the original grip. He wasn’t 100% sure what he wanted to do but had his wife’s P250 handy and looked at the grip. Apparently he liked the look / feel so he cut the grip off and attached it to their prototype. Now the new SIG50 has a grip pretty much identical to that of a P250.
I’m going to start posting information about Sig’s products at SHOT Show 2011 today.
The Sig Sauer 556 in 7.62×39 also known as the 556R is actually called the Sig556 Russian – this makes total sense. I’ve scanned Sig’s 2011 catalog to share some specs about the rifle and you can also see the SIG556 Russian photos below:
If you are interested in any of the new 2011 Sig Sauer models, please send us an email or post a comment. We will be happy to notify you when that model is available for sale. On certain models, we will offer a pre-order starting in a few weeks. We do plan on stocking the majority of the new 2011 additions, perhaps with the exception of the SIG50 .50BMG…
We snapped some new photos of the P229 Stainless Elite (E29R-40-SSE) today and wanted to share them on the blog… Note that in 2011, the P229 Stainless Elite will no longer be available with the rosewood grips. The gun will be shipped with the E2 (enhanced ergonomic) grips in 2011. Update 2-17-11 – this was a miscommunication with Sig Sauer. The Stainless model will be offered with the rosewood grips but not the nitron finished Elite.
